We came for Sunday Brunch. It gets really packed to expect a wait. We arrived around 12, so our wait was less than 10 mins for a table for 2. (There is no free mimosas while you wait per a prior Yelper's review.) The hostess seemed flustered. There was a line to jot down names for tables, but she was too busy trying to find a party for their table. When she came back she continued to comb the list without acknowledging the people standing in line. When we sat, we were quickly serviced. We ordered the following: -Mimosa ($3) -OJ ($2.25) -Create Your Own Omelet with a choice of 5 items ($12) -Jimmy's Special ($13) Several observations: -So hot in the restaurant. 2 ceilings fans but did very little. Apparently, the AC was broken ? -Don't sit in the tabletops by the kitchen if you're a party of 2. People kept walking in between the tables and it was so distracting and annoying that people kept walking back and forth between our tables from both sides. C'mon people, the tables are already small enough and I have to watch your ass as I eat my brunch?! Luckily nothing was knocked over when they were passing! -Shared bathroom with the adjoining restaurant. Good thing they're clean! -Ample parking -There's a church across the street so go before the service gets out! -There are about 3 TVs where all of them were on sports channels. -What's up with the flies? Damn, I was turned off shooing then away... -Meals come with sides: hash browns or country potatoes and choice of toast. -Portions are certainly generous! The food was good, but the experience was alright. If you're all about the food, it's a great place to grab good and hearty maels

It was ok. I think is overrated. The mimosa was delicious, the omelette was great, but the potato was burned and they brought it to me just like that. The server was rushing because they were busy and that took away from the experience. At the end I don't think this place is a 4 stars, more like a 2.

  • K T.

There was a wait and very crowded. So sat down to wait and wow! Some guy comes out with a full tray of mimosas! (Not the best but it's the thought that counts!) before I could finish it we were called to our table! (Waited about :10). Again was crowded inside, but service was quick! Quick to order and quick to bring it! But wasn't in a rush to get us out which was nice. Food was good, too! Not 5 star amazing but a nice lil cafe all the same.

I've traveled many places, poor countries, remote rural locations, but this was easily the absolute worst breakfast place I've ever visited. The omelette can't even be called an omelette here.

  • Desiree G.

Pam is by far the best waitress they have! She always gets our orders right and goes the extra mile to make sure we are taken care of our entire stay. Absolutely wonderful!

Can there be 10 stars on here?? I seriously became addicted the first time we are here. I love it! I re conned it to everyone and I can't wait to go with my hubby and baby on the weekends. The food portions are massive. Everything I've had here is beyond delicious ( even when I ate on the healthier side) and the mimosas are on point. We pick this place over anything on weekend mornings. Best place in the desert.

Short wait on busy Sunday (10min) with complimentary Mimosas. Quick, friendly waitstaff. Food served surprisingly fast. Unfortunately, food disappoints, and that's why we're here. Coffee has no flavor - tastes like warm water. Country potatoes tepid - obviously sitting in a warming bin. Eggs undercooked - over easy comes out barely sunny side up with runny whites and yolk, over medium comes out with runny yolk like over easy. Waitress helpful but eggs sent back twice and still not right. She says they can do "over medium well" but when arrives whites brown and crispy but yolk still runny - the pan is simply too hot! Hashbrowns crispy dark brown on outside but white on inside. I get the feeling they're trying to rush to keep the tables turning over. Been here twice before and always leave underwhelmed compared to four-star Yelp rating.

I had not been here in a few years and remember not being impressed but couldn't remember why. So, my friend and I decided to try it for lunch. Now I remember why. The restaurant stank of burnt toast the entire time we sat there. It took 10 minutes after we set our menus on the edge of the table before someone took our order. We ordered a club sandwich (mayo on the side) and fries to share. It took another 25 minutes to get a sandwich, slathered in mayo, and an order of shriveled up fries. Aside from the gobs of mayo, the sandwich had processed cheese and the fries were definitely not fresh. I can stay home for a higher quality sandwich than that. We never saw the waitress again until she brought our tab. When we told her we had asked for mayo on the side (and had to wipe it off with napkins) she just said, "Oh...you asked for that?" Not even an apology...which would have gone a long way in this case. One soggy sandwich and two drinks was $20. I will not be returning here and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Love this place for breakfast. Not an amazing place for a "healthy" breakfast but they have Huge plates. The best corned beef hash ever!! You will leave here with a regret of over eating cause you dont want to stop. Service is attentive as they can be but def seems like they are overworked. I would give them five stars if the managers realized they need more servers to be attentive. Or a better hostess. We sat there and watched the one server on staff sat 11am go crazy trying to attend to everyone while the hostess sat there and stared at the wall. Mind you it was summer so she only had about 6 tables (not that bad) but with a little help from the hostess she would have been fine. Team members should work together.

Was staying in Palm Springs for the weekend and wanted to get some Sunday breaky. The interior has a diner feel without the dinge that can sometimes accompany them. It has high ceilings for a modern edge, large windows letting in lots of light and marble top tables. For the diner feel, they have the bar seating in front of the open kitchen alley, old time photos hanging on the walls, slightly aged woman serving you and of course all the diner favorites. They even make their own jam here which should not be missed. I kept it fairly simple and went with the breakfast sandwich (bacon, tomato, cheese and egg on toasted sourdough) that comes with a side of hash browns. Ingredients were fresh, toast was not drenched in butter or grease and the hash browns were cooked perfectly with real potatoes. Service was quick and friendly as you expect in this type of establishment. Coffee was kept steaming and refilled as necessary. The pancakes looked gigantic and were frequently passing out the kitchen window. Recommend for a simple easy breakfast.

I am very, VERY critical about my breakfast and I can honestly say Louise's Pantry has one of the best breakfast I've ever had! Free mimosas! Also a few of my food items were comped!

    (5)
  • H P.

Louise's is an okay place to grab breakfast. The servers are old-school diner waitresses who get the job done, and the bus staff is on top of coffee refills which is always appreciated. The booths are pretty comfortable unless the seat you at a two person booth which can seem claustrophobic after 30 seconds. The decor is pretty cool, the place seems clean, and it's nice and bright in there. My wife orders the waffles and loves loves loves them. Three stars right away! I, on the other hand, usually order an eggs over easy type breakfast when we go out, and so far they have not impressed me. Their hash browns were really overlooked and dry throughout, and the sausage links seemed undercooked which freaks me out. I tried the country potatoes on my next visit, but they were just boiled white potatoes with some bell pepper and onion thrown in with them. I wanted to ask them to swap the ketchup for sour cream and chives...would have tasted way better that way! I ordered an egg sandwich one time, and it had cheese, half-cooked bacon (which freaks me out), fried egg, and tomato slices. The tomato was not ripe enough and centers of the slices were white, hard and inedible. I'm sure we will go back, but just because my wife really likes their waffles!

From walking in to the bill the staff was very friendly. I had the louise's scramble breakfast and it was prepared perfectly. I recommend this place to everyone. Best breakfast in town!

  • Annette D.

Best breakfast in the Coachella Valley! A small, popular, local valley establishment. Homemade jam everyday and the breakfast potatoes will blow you away! The weekend hostess is very efficient and friendly, she knows the flow of the restaurant and keeps things moving. The food is delicious and arrives super fast. The servers work hard to make the customer happy. If you want to really treat yourself to a wonderful breakfast, do yourself a favor and visit Louise's Pantry. Weekends tend to be a little busy and a little wait may be required. Devan and Anthony are amazing servers!

    (5)
  • Jesse F.

Jimmy's Special (corned beef with 3 eggs) is compared to Walter White's Blue Meth al a breaking bad! It's the purest and has the best quality I have ever tasted! Louise's Pantry does everything right! From the service to the home made jam! I end my review with a definition superlative (s-pûrl-tv) adj. 1. Of the highest order, quality, or degree; surpassing or superior to all others.

    (5)
  • Mary G.

Older lady that's seats everyone is rude! She could be the owner, she seats by the following criteria: if you are your friend, or if you have money. This is based on several trips to Louise's. She has our family. The food is good. This an expense place for breakfast. Service is excellent.

    (2)
  • Ruben G.

The wait wasn't too long at all. My buddy had called before we got there to get on the list. Mimosas were served to everyone waiting outside. Service was great. Food was amazing. Solely for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Plus side, there is a chance you get to see some celebs.

    (5)
  • Chip D.

Best kept secret in the desert. Free Mimosas on Sunday. The eggs Benedict at to die for. Sandwiches are fantastic. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu.

    (5)
  • Marcus H.

The food was plentiful and delicious. Service was prompt, even when it was very busy. Everyone was polite the entire time. No complaints about Louise's Pantry!

  • Bonzo M.

We got back from having breakfast today. I had the Chicken Fried Steak. It was amazing, great meat, awesome gravy. Plenty of food for a good proce actully. Most of the other people in the party went for the Monte Cristo. I tried it and felt my arteries screaming for mercy. I guess that's how it's supposed to be. ;) I would be back in an instant.

    (5)
  • Amber T.

Always heard of this joint but never went until today. It was great! Service was fast and efficient. My husband and I were out in 30 minutes and it was pretty crowded. Eggs Benedict was delicious! However, my husband's biscuits and gravy were the best I've had! The portions are HUGE!

  • Zerina V.

I have NEVER EVER been rushed like this before. We felt like the second we sat down to order and go. The toast was heated up bread and eggs didn't come sunny side up. The waitress was rude. Not even a min after reviving our food was the bill delivered. But but the Jam was delicious

  • Nancy M.

My second visit last weekend. I luv this little nook and the free mimosa with Yelp check in. Called ahead and for party of 2 (just in case as we were visiting from out of town). Had the waffle and loved it. Husband ordered an omelet with spinach, beef and something else. He didn't love it, said the beef needed seasoning. I took a bite it was good, could have used some seasoning as he said, but it wasn't terrible. I'll be back for sure.

    (4)
  • Sylvia V.

I hate giving bad reviews. Customer Service was great. Mimosa's were yummy and complementary. We were seated right away (I called ahead). It was my brother's 40th birthday weekend and before going home, we decided to take him there. I was dissapointed. I was hoping the food was better. It really is a, "hole in the wall," place. I am sure the pancakes might have been yummy but my biscuits and gravy were not the best. To top it off they overcharged us. My husband noticed when he read his bank statement today. They told him it does that when the credit card and debit are linked. What the heck? That it would be credited back in 72 hours? Apparently this has happened before? If you want something fancy, not the place.

  • Kellie H.

Louise's stole my heart right away with complimentary mimosas, they are my favorite! Little heavy on the pulp for me personally. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet! I had Louise's Scramble -delicious! And my husband had one of the country fried meats (I forget which one exactly) but he said it was also delicious! Would definitely go back!

  • Giovanni M.

Been here numerous times with friends and family and have had great experiences each time. Food is excellent and service is as well. There are TVs that play the news and sports and the portion of food is really big. I always look forward to eating at Louise's Pantry.

  • Wesly H.

Free Mimosas with breakfast!? Count me in! I recommend Louise's Scramble or the breakfast burrito after a long night out. We waited 20 minutes to be seated, but it was worth it. The servers were very attentive and aim to please. This is a great local spot!

    (5)
  • Sheena M.

This place takes phone reservations despite what yelp says. Highly recommend calling ahead of time. Amazing service and food. Professional servers and the fasted food service. We were given mimosas while we waited 45 min. Worth the wait!

It was Ok. A bit pricey for breakfast ($10+). Super crowded. Everyone seems to be in a hurry. Food was ok.

Hung out with the bf and fam for a weekend in La Quinta and wanted to venture out for some brunch. I Yelped and Louise's Pantry came up the closest and it had great reviews. The location is odd...in a strip mall looking place so I really doubted the quality but was proven wrong. Free mimosas while you wait? YES!!! Speedy and friendly service? YES!! Bomb food and generous portions? YES!!! What's not to love. I'm sad I didn't get a pic of my delicious french toast but I was so hungry and it looked so good I couldn't wait to eat it.

What a pleasant surprise. Came here with low expectations and left here with an amazing experience! A lot of it was contributed to the owner and the workers here. Our waiter Anthony was superior - very humorous, courteous, and professional. The workers were all smiling, quick to refill coffees, hook us up with a birthday cheesecake (they gave it to us free!), and more. Handling a party of 11 is no easy task, and they were exceptional! As for the food, it was top notch. The omelette was delicious and customized for my own taste. The portions were ENORMOUS - many folks could not finish their meal. The hash browns were crisp, and the toast was great. Definitely would love to come back again here based on the experience. Even the owner is walking around asking how we were doing. Very impressed!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS.. I've been meaning to post this review. Our visit was on the Monday after Father's Day. First off, the food was as advertised/described. They give you good food with good portions. I wouldn't of found this place if I had not yelped it. A couple of our regular places were closed on Mondays and so we ended up here. What I thought could have been better was the service. The busboy was a lot more pleasant and friendly. He was very attentive and even got our drinks. Our waitress on the other hand seemed to be put off, as if we were inconveniencing her day. I don't get that... Anyway. My conclusion...I'd rather go where both the food and service are equally great. I think if you are paying and tipping, at least enjoy the dining experience. I would not return here unless my other options were exhausted. I would say ask for another server if you don't like yours but she seemed to be it. It's not a huge place but maybe she was overwhelmed, I don't know but I don't think customers should be the ones to suffer in receiving less than great service.

I stopped by fro brunch during a trip to Stagecoach 2015. From the moment we arrived it was clear Louise's is a hot spot for both locals and visitors alike. They were quick and obviously used to getting people in and out during the Coachella/Stagecoach madness. We were quoted 15min as a wait and it was almost a perfect estimate. Upon sitting, we were greeted with water and asked about a beverage order immediately. Our table went for the Eggs Benedict and Breakfast Quesadilla, as well as a banana pancake to split. All items were great -- I suggest splitting the fruit pancakes if you are not a big sweet lover. We also ordered a side of corn beef hash, which was phenomenal and a must try as well. Overall this restaurant offers a really good brunch/breakfast experience and our group will definitely be back next year!

Breakfast on Sunday was fabulous. Our server was efficient and very pleasant. Since it was our first time there we needed a few minutes to review the menu. While we did this we enjoyed a yummy mimosa. Once we ordered our breakfast arrived promptly. I ordered the pancake sandwich and it was enough to split 3 ways. It was delicious. There were 5 of us and everyone decided we would return next Sunday.

I kinda like this place but I have to ask....Why does Louise burn the omelets, I mean look at the omelets, they are burned! Why can't Louise cook the omelet on a lower flame. But I think that is the usual in this valley, burn omelet burn.

Love this place, amazing environment, service, and most importantly food . My husband and I enjoyed complementary mimosas during our Sunday brunch. If in the la Quinta area and looking for breakfast look no further .

The perfect breakfast/brunch before heading to Coachella! Went here with my boyfriend around 12pm on Coachella Sunday, waited about 30 min to get seated. Not bad, considering how many people were also waiting to get seated and it's festival season. Ordered the crab and avocado omelette and my boyfriend ordered the chicken fried steak. Food came out quick. My omelette was delicious! It was the right amount of crab and avocado in the eggs. And the omelette was smothered with hollandaise sauce! Mmmm! It also came with potatoes (I chose hash browns) and toast. Perfect crisp on the hash and the toast came with their homemade jam and it's soooo good and fresh! Service was good too. My boyfriend's chicken fried steak had little gravy sauce on it unfortunately, but it was nice that our server gave him more extra gravy on the side. His chicken fried steak was perfect! Not too overwhelming with that peppery taste. And also, on Sundays, one mimosa per customer is free! :)

  • Paloma A.

Came here for the first time on a weekday and I ordered the Louises special while my husband got the pancake sandwich. The service was pretty quick but the food was very bland. The house potatoes and the eggs were the only items well cooked and seasoned, however, the bacon was wayyy TOO salty and the pancakes had no flavor. The front of house and the waiter were not very friendly and the only one who was attentive to our needs was the busser. When the waiter came to leave the bill she did not care to mention that we needed to pay at the front. My husband and I waited for a long time until the busser came to pick up our plates and told us that we had to pay in the front!

This review is for the Brand New Louise's location in Palm Desert. EXCELLENT! From the moment we walked in a greeted Ana the manager to be well taken care of by our beautiful server Topaz to having Head Chef John sit with us at our table to discuss.his salsa making talents. You must tfy his green salsa! My wife had the delicious Pancake Sandwich breakfast and I had Chiliquellas. Yes, Chihiquellas at Louuse's! So good i almost felt I was back home.in Baja!

  • Pauline M.

Sunday mimosas! Just don't forget to bring your ID like me... since everyone else is retired, you will be carded! I wasn't sure about getting a avocado crab omelette in the middle of the desert, but I went for it because a few reviews raved about it. Avocado, omelette, crab (yes it was pretty fresh!) and hollandaise, what a wickedly good (and probably heart attack inducing) combo. This can NOT be good for all the old ppl dining here... The beef hash was also very delicious. Another recommendation from Yelp. There can be quite a wait on weekend mornings. The service is excellent, all smiles.

Went in at 10am and we were seated right away. We had a great server who offered recommendations when asked. I ordered the eggs benedict but they were the mexican twist ones made out of pulpusas and chorizo. My husband ordered the crab and avacado omelet and he was also happy with his order. The orange juice tasted like it was freshly squeezed. The staff and food were great! The owner even went to each table to make sure everyone was satisfied. We will definitely be back when we are in town again!

  • Mike A.

Wonderful breakfast experience, great service, generous portions at great prices. At our request they custom made Eggs Benedict with their corn beef hash (made with real corn beef , but lacking enough flavor). Though we didn't love the corned beef hash, the hash brown potatoes were to die for. Blueberry pancakes with fresh blueberries and was a wonderful treat.

Though the food was good the place is dirty. Dust on the pictures, light fixture had bug traps on them, dirty walls...old and unkept. The whole place felt grungy. I would not go back.

I'm obviously in the minority with my one star review but here goes... Went for lunch today around noon. The place was full and we waited a while to order our drinks. Waited some more to order our lunch. I ordered a side of fries, a chicken salad and my friend ordered a pancake. The waitress was totally in "the weeds" frantic and hurried. Seemed like her head was gonna start spinning around and she couldn't wait to get away from our table...she was way too busy. Food came out: Huge biscuit had been microwaved within an inch of its life... Gross Chicken salad was 2 huge scoops of bland chicken salad on wilted iceberg. Pancake was served without butter or syrup - my friend went and got it herself. Anyway... Louise's hasn't been the same since they moved from downtown Palm Springs. It isn't cheap and it isn't any good anymore. Sad.

  • Taylor D.

A lot to choose from! I wasn't always the biggest fan of this place because of bad customer service and sometimes lack of taste in food. It definitely feels like you're at a diner. It gets realllly busy for being a bit hidden. Which means it's a local hot spot and many people like it! I'd recommend trying it out because so many of my friends LOVE this place, but if you don't find much flavor in their food, I told ya so, but i'm a food snob.

    (3)
  • Christina R.

Hands down TOP breakfast spot in the Coachella Valley! It's the same fullness you get when your mother throws down on that stove -its that home cooked GOOD-GOOD. With the best staff! I don't need to boast too much but you'll understand when you arrive and see a line out the door! Every time. But it's worth it, I mean that jelly they serve with their toast is magical sweetness lookin to make an honest woman out of your tastebuds!

  • William S.

My wife, kids and I went here for breakfast this past weekend. The food and service were excellent. I had a waffle with bacon and eggs. The waffle was perfectly cooked. One problem I have with restaurant waffles is that they are often tough due to over mixing. This was not. The eggs were the weakest as they were slightly over cooked. All is all though an excellent breakfast. Also I do recommend the mimosas which are refreshing on a hot summer morning.

We had a great breakfast experience! Our food was great and the service was even better! From the host, the bussers, and our server Pam, everyone was kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.

They have a server named Anthony who is really top notch. I would have to recommend the chicken fried steak and country potatoes mmmmmmMMM! Probably the best breakfast in Laquinta/Indio.

Come early to avoid long lines!! There are two spots open now, one in La Quinta (original) and the newly opened restaurant in Palm Dessert! We ordered their special and a skillet! Both were really really good! They serve a lot of food! My husband and I could've probably shared a plate!

  • David P.

My family's favorite place for breakfast in the valley. It's not uncommon to hear my daughter say she wants to go to "Weeze's" on the weekends. She always has eggs with fresh fruit. My son, who consider a pancake connoisseur, loves their pancakes. My wife and I have had many of their breakfast items. None have ever disappointed. I'm especially fond of their corned beef hash. Try the chili on a burger. Try the pastrami. Try it all. Everything is made from scratch here. Biscuits and gravy...to die for!!!

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times now and I always pick the same thing chicken fried steak with egg and country potatoes. It's not that I don't like the other foods on the menu, but I just love this one. I have tried other foods from My sisters plates and they are very delicious as well. Great atmosphere, clean place and very friendly servers. Food is prepared perfectly, and on time. I will be coming here soon, and will invite my friends as well

Extremely busy ,but we'll worth it !!!! Great tasting food and large size portions. Will be back again soon. They also have the best tasting coffee in my opinion, bouyds coffee which was smooth and no bitterness or after taste in mouth. Loved it !!!!!!!

Good food, good service, huge portions. Nice decor, quality food at a reasonable price tag. Very friendly, prompt and professional service. I had the Belgian waffle and my wife had the Louise's scrambled. Both were fluffy and delicious. We shared the corned beef hash which was unique but very tasty. All in all, highly recommend and would surely return.

Went here for lunch , and the place was packed. I mean packed. We were seated within seconds and everyone was very polite and attentive. Now for th3 food., diner type menu . Good diner type food . It was great! My friend had the breakfast menu and I had the lunch menu both were outstanding . Nothing tasted instant all home made. Normal pricing nit over priced . Fresh fruit. The negatives place was packed so everyone knows , and it only stays open till 2.

Free Sunday Mimosas :) and the best breakfast burrito I've ever had! That thing was a beast in terms of yumminess and size! And I totally demolished it! A friend got French toast that was amazing and another got eggs Benedict that she also loved... Great place to eat.

Very well run. We arrived on a Saturday morning at 9am, and didn't have to wait longer than 5 minutes! Nice booths with old timey black and white photos on the walls. Our wait staff were all very nice and efficient. I thought the coffee tasted burnt, but my eggs were cooked perfectly, and the homemade strawberry jam that accompanied my sourdough toast was delicious! Must go!

Everyone is so nice and willing to accommodate every whimsical foodie need and desire. I kept coming back almost every day for a week since permanently moving to the area for a new job. The food is great. I've had several breakfast items on the menu and have been ultra-satisfied with all of them. Not to mention the free mimosas on Sundays!

The hostess at this place was rude disrespectful , to my 80-year-old mother that is handicap . I could not believe how she spoke to her she's in a wheelchair, and pretty much told her to get out of the way . I was totally shocked in this matter. Other than that. The food was not so bad and the service was okay

Stagecoach weekend 2015 Meal time: 11:30am Food was horrible. I'm not usually the one to complain or wrote a negative review but this visit deserves it. Ordered the eggs Benedict with potatoes and it looked like it was thrown together in 30 seconds. Eggs weren't even on top of the English muffin. There was so much sauce just covering the whole plate. And you could tell the potatoes weren't fresh. Also ordered their "special" because it was recommended by the waitress and was supposedly "delicious"... And it wasn't. The chorizo tasted like sloppy joe. And once again the eggs and sauce were everywhere. We did our best by trying to enjoy it but just couldn't do it. Politely said something to our waitress and she said she will talk to her manager about the bill. She comes back with a small jar of jelly and says "for people who don't like something or have a complaint, we give them a jar of our homemade jelly." The manger couldn't even come out of the back and show their face and take responsibilty. She took away our full plates of food and gave us our bill. I won't be back.

Louises is desert tradition and terrific as long as you're willing to spend $35 on breakfast for two.

Great breakfast place this side of the valley! The portions are absolutely huge, makes your eyes pop out of your head! (Perfect sizes for sharing). Quite an extensive menu so it's very hard to just choose one! Service is very consistent and friendly! During the weekends it can get quite busy and there will be a wait. But they have chairs outside.

Great food, great service! One of my favorite places to eat breakfast at! A must try if your visiting La Quinta on vacation!

The first place I ate after moving out to the area. I give them marks for knowing how to cook bacon without being told. Me? I like my bacon burned and crispy too many places (if you don't ask) make it stringy and fat or just somehow not very good. Yeah, I'm not a breakfast person at all but bacon usually sells it for me. This place is good and cute and nice. The food is always good if not unbelievable. I always get some kind of fruit pancake. Big serving but then again it's between 12 and 15 bucks for the pancakes. Also high marks for always having great service even though they're always crowded. But the staff is always funny and pleasant and quick. I've already been back and it will probably stay a staple for my time here.

I'm really picky with French toast, but it was absolutely perfect here, and the mimosas were just the perfect ratio of champagne to orange juice!

Just ate at the new PD location!! Absolutely the best breakfast in the valley! Best biscuits and gravy i have had, at a restaurant, ever! French toast was second to none!! This is my new breakfast spot hands down!!

Great service, great food. I had the Joe's Special with egg whites, my husband had the breakfast quesadilla. We will definitely come back next time we're in town!

I first went to the Louise's pantry in Palm Desert back in 1989. Since it opened in La Quinta it has been our family favorite especially for breakfast. The coffee is good, the food and service is consistently good. Everything they make comes in very generous proportions. My kids love the strawberry jam with toast. We have tried all the other breakfast places in La Quinta, but we always compare it to Louise's and wonder why we even tried elsewhere?

If you want really good breakfast then come to this place, portions are also good size as well.

A very old fashioned looking breakfast spot in what looks to be a new construction area. Weird, but it works. Were greeted pleasantly and seated right away. Loved the bigger than usual coffee cups. I ordered the huevos rancheros and my husband a custom omelet. The huevos was good, not spectacular, but hearty portions. My husband enjoyed his omelet. Solid place to go for breakfast with friendly service.

It's alright, it's okay...it's okay, it's alright. An older crowd at an older place has moved into off-the-street newer location...done corporate style! The Monte Cristo that I had was great! The jam was delicious! Big food, decent prices, but service is older.

  • Samantha Z.

We went here on a whim to get a big breakfast outside of our resort (and resort prices) and it didn't disappoint. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was great for a diner-esque type of place. The place was full of families and groups of 20-somethings that appeared to be recovering from a big night - so it caters to all! :)

  • Sarah G.

Excellent food and reasonable prices. Very friendly & efficient staff. Portions are large and not for the seriously health conscientious but you've got to splurge sometime.

  • Mandi C.

We were seated fairly quickly! Great customer service! Loved the bonus for checking in - a free mimosa! The French toast was delicious! I enjoyed this place so much that I went back the next day and tried their special, which was a cheese filled torte tipped with chorizo, and eggs Benedict! It was delicious! I would definitely check this place out. It's a tucked away little mom and pop restaurant. I'll be back when I'm in the desert again! Enjoy!

Stopped here on the way out of town after Coachella. The place was busy, but the staff was friendly and worked hard to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was good - a little more than I usually pay for breakfast, but the portions were huge. Overall, a cute little place with friendly staff and good food.

Great food fast and friendly service breakfast burrito was great. The egg Benedict was good my partner got. I recommend getting the country potatoes vs hash browns potatoes. Coffee was good a place for the locals.

The breakfasts are very good and you get quantity and quality for the price. Wait staff as well as kitchen staff very friendly. Lots of breakfasts options. Can get crowded with a line outside because it's one of the best places to eat. Old fashion inside with coffee counter to have breakfast. Not too be missed when in LA.

    (4)
  • Jessica S.

Great service, large portions and a variety of selections on the menu. The best thing on my plate was the home made strawberry preserves, bought a jar to take home for my husband. Parking is difficult and restraunt is off the beaten path.

  • Shaubri N.

This place makes me so happy. They have such an extensive menu full of yummy delights and the atmosphere is just so full of the old Palm Springs days with photos and plaques. I get the Ruben sandwich and it never ceases to make me drool and leave me feeling full from Breakfast to dinner. The French dip is also amazing and huge. I could go on and on but it's making me hangry now.

  • Breanne C.

Sandwich wasn't bad, mimosas are fairly priced, but the man at the table next to mine is literally so close I've had to move my chair... his elbow is resting on my table, that's how crowded it is. I also asked for another drink and our server hesitantly responded "I guess" I've had two mimosas is that past the limit?

  • Ben G.

The service was excellent, the quality was great. The food was delivered to my table in less than 5 minutes from ordering it. Me and my family ordered Pancakes Waffles and French Toast, no words can describe how amazing they all tasted. You will just have to go here and find out. This place is also family friendly and service dogs are allowed in.

We have been eating at Louise's for a few years now and have had a great experience every time. The service is fantastic and the waitresses are personable. It's a true gem and an experience hard to come by in this age of chain restaurants. My family including the kids love the food and will continue to come back!

Awesome service and delicious food. The crab and avocado omelette was amazing, and the jam they give you with your toast is to die for. We come out to Indian Wells several times a year. This is the first time we've eaten here but it definitely won't be the last.

Good food. Had my fav here (eggs benedict), with a mimosa. Both were very good. Fresh squeezed orange juice. Went during the week, so luckily did not have to wait to be seated. I heard the wait on Sunday can be long. FYI, they close by 2:00 P.M.

Found this restaurant on Urbanspoon. After seeing the 91% rating, we just had to try it! It exceeded all of my expectations. Food came quickly, staff was very friendly, and it was delicious! I highly recommend heading here for breakfast! :)

  • Sandy K.

Huge portions during breakfast. Located in a small strip center with plenty of parking. I can only imagine how busy this place gets busy on weekends BC they have chairs out front for waiting. My Bfast included 3 eggs with my homemade corn beef hash with requested well done cooked potatoes. When my bfast arrived I was shocked how massive the size was - just like the cups of coffee. Service was spot on and my food arrived within minutes of placing my order. So way the deduction of a star? I thought the price was on the high side $19.00 for bfast including tip for one person is pricey in my opinion. There was no breakout on the tap so I'm not sure what the charge was for the coffee.

  • Marc P.

If this is the "best breakfast" in the area, I can't imagine what other places are like. Let me say that the service was good, that's about all they got. As for the crowd and decor, it felt like they would reimplement segregation if they could. The walls were decorated with black & white photos from "the good old days" aka only white people and lots of Ronald Regan pics. Fox news was blaring in the background which made it feel like the breakfast head quarters for the GOP. They had the history of La Quinta on the wall and mentioned slave quarters like they were proud. Aside from all this lovely right wing nostalgia from the pre-civil rights days.... the food was mediocre at best. Like the rest of the area, it was filled with the over priviledged and out of touch from SoCal. Angry old ladies with bleaced blonde hair, grumpy old men who think common courtesy does not apply to them and pockets of Cochella bound L.A. brats who live off their parents money. Considering the type of people who go to the Palm Springs area, I can see why this place is so popular.

  • Lil Feisty P.

Mimosa was great. They used freshly squeezed oj, I think, b/c there was a lot of pulp. My food was just okay, not spectacular. Had the breakfast burrito and it was huge. Get it if you want a big breakfast. It was a lil bland for me, just eggs cheese peppers and onions. Some add seasoning/spices would've make it great. Service was very prompt and polite. A definite plus. I would've gave it a higher rating but I like really flavorful food. But it's a decent place for sure!

  • Baird B.

You know, when there is a line waiting to get into the joint, its either a giveaway or the food is just that awesome. Here, it is awesome and street cred worthy. If you hankering for a lot of carbs after an all night bender, then sit yourself down and order anything cuz its going to be major food and not a lot of $$. Worth the trip ****

  • Andrew L.

This place did the business! We wanted exactly what we got- good food, coffee and breakfast tea for my parents. I had the scramble which was delicious and the fruit cup (which can often be flavorless) was fantastic! Would recommend to others.

So I took the family to Louise's for breakfast this morning. We are locals and have been coming here for 10 or more years. As I'm talking to my family I see one if the cooks wipe the sweat off his face with a bare hand and continue cooking without washing his hands. Ok kinda gross. Then I watch as the other cook is scooping gravy onto MY PLATE. He gets gravy on his bare hands and proceeds to suck the gravy off of three fingers and continue without washing!! Holy shit!!! So disgusted and will never eat there again . I informed the manager who could care less. Apparently massive health code violations are acceptable at Louise's pantry. We walked out.

Everything is delicious ! Beautiful location with a real cafe locals vibe. The biscuits and gravy is incomparable to any other restaurant in the valley, everything in house made and the biscuits the size of soft balls!! I loved the biscuits and gravy! Always had to order a side ! Best cafe breakfast in La Quinta Cove !

Well, to be honest, the complimentary mimosas tipped the scale from 4.5....LOL. Just as I remember the food from their original location downtown on Palm Canyon. Machaca was great and the wife couldn't finish her omelet....so there ya have it!

The restaurant is nice and bright and perfect for breakfast. As a visitor at a nearby resort, we like to venture out and explore and see what the city has to offer. As a matter of fact, we decided to come back twice for our morning breakfasts. I asked for the hash brown crispy and they crisped it right up. It was crunchy, tasty and delicious with a dab of ketchup. The service was still quick and friendly even as busy as they were. Their omelettes, meats and pancakes are just perfect for a hearty morning meal. They have normal to larger portions and everything just felt and taste like good home cooked meals. Whoever said there's nothing out in the dessert. This is an outstanding place that will break the stereotype and I really want one just like it in the OC area. If you're ever out here, you won't be disappointed with their food.

  • Alexandra B.

Delicious local restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch all day. Since the early 40's it appears that Louise's pantry has been dishing out some amazing breakfasts! Have the potatoes and my husband loved their egg and sandwich and coffee! Yum. Yum. Yum.

  • Evan S.

I ate here twice, once sitting in, another for pickup. Had my make-my-own omelet with a choice of 5 ingredients the first time which came with hashbrowns and toast, second time had an apple pancake. The portion sizes were big, but neither dish stood out as being abnormally tasty, I kinda just got the standard package methinks. To me this place passes as decent enough to get breakfast at, but it just wasn't the best I've ever had.

  • Jennifer C.

First time here for breakfast and was not disappointed!! You know if there's a line must be good. Complimentary mimosas while you wait...Yes thank you very much! Homemade jam, biscuit and gravy...delish! Big portions for breakfast. ..great menu selection for breakfast!

Great service fabulous food, order extra crispy potatoes. We order the Louise's omelette with extra crispy potatoes. The Louise breakfast sandwich is also great.

  • Diane G.

It's ok. The only things I would really see as worth mentioning were the coffee and the service. Breakfast sandwich was good but nothing special. Same for the "Joes Special" spinach and egg mixture. Was hoping for some unusual choices but it's just standard diner fare.

    (3)
  • Shan C.

My wife had her dream French Toast here, thought it the best she ever had, posted on her FB & I agreed. Service was great, waters/waitress were super friendly and out food came out quickly; Forgot what else we ordered but totally enjoyed it and definitely will come back again!

Staying at LQ spa and resort and wanted to get off campus. Good selection of basic foods. If you want simple, easy, good service, this is where you come to. We're here at 7am on a Saturday and there's no one here. Have not had any better breakfast for the money. Add Louise's to your regular joints. (Coffee is decent, not spectacular.)

  • Deborah B.

Found this place on yelp when we were out in the desert visiting a friend. There was a long line when we arrived on a sunday morning about 10 am. We had to wait over a half hour but while you are waiting a guy comes out with free mimosa's. I thought that was nice touch. Although if you want a complimentary non alcoholic beverage you are out of luck. Louise's Pantry is an old school diner type of place with solid breakfast choices. Although prices seem a little steep for breakfast the portions were HUGE! Tried Corned beef hash & eggs, apple pancakes, and crab & avocado omelet. All of them were delicious but i was partial to the corned beef hash. With your breakfast you get a choice of bread. I recommend the raisin bread. SO GOOD!!! Also, if you check in on yelp you get a free mimosa or soft drink or a small juice.

Complimentary memosa and chicken fried steak to die for. Best chicken fried steak I've ever had!!

  • Joey S.

Louise's Pantry is a great breakfast spot. It's relatively small and gets pretty crowded. The last time I went they served mimosas to those waiting so I didn't mind the 15 minute wait at all. You can't go wrong with any of the breakfast items and they come in huge portions. I usually go with one of the omelets and struggle to finish. I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

This place was pretty packed on a Thursday afternoon in the off season so we figured it was gonna be bomb. It's average. Maybe compared to Other breakfast joint in the area it's 4 stars but I don't know. Pretty average in my opinion. The lady that sat us was kinda rigid, but the server and bus boy were super cool. Service was snappy. The corn beef hash was really good and I don't even like the stuff. I got a waffle and it was bomb. Biscuit and gravy suck. Chiliquelas are a no go.

  • Jay D.

The food here is awesome and I usually always enjoy my experience. The service is the best around. Very quick, order is correct, they work as a team and very friendly. Except for what I witnessed today. I sat in the small booths next to the kitchen area. My server was new. She did an amazing job. She looks like she's raised her family, has had many jobs before this one and probably decided to go back to work for whatever reasons. So I'd imagine feeling uncertain in her new work place. She asked the cook behind the window a question. A simple question. She wanted to know how best to communicate a customer's special request. He was so rude and belittling to her the way he spoke to her. It totally ruined my breakfast. My heart was breaking for her. She smiled it off, not skipping a beat and went back to engaging customers with lively conversation. I'd like to let management know you've got a great new employee and one that needs to be...... Well I'm not management and would never try to tell someone how to run what is an extremely successful business. That guy is a complete jerk but I'll be back and hopefully he won't remember who I am and spit in my food. I wouldn't put it past him.

Really good food, huge servings (really! I eat a lot and I took home leftovers which was a second complete meal ). Service was perfect, attentive without being annoying. Has the feel of a homey diner. Only complaint is too many TVs playing too many different channels.

This is one of the best breakfast places in the desert. Wait staff are so accommodating and professional. Love the food and the very well done hash browns. The food is aways prepared as ordered and hot and plentiful. RK

Before I had the chance to enjoy this restaurant Kathy ruined it for us all. If it wasn't for her rude behavior I might have been able to enjoy this establishment. The eggs Benedict over pupusas was interesting and tasty although my Salvadoran friend informed me that they were not genuine. However, Sharon was a sweetheart and it was because of her kindness that I upgraded this review from zero stars. Oh and the free mimosa is a farce.

We love Louise's for breakfast. We have tried the Broken Yolk a couple of times but there is always a problem with the order. Service is quick, friendly and professional at Louise's and we have never been disappointed. They make a cute Mickey Mouse face pancake for the kids. I love their hash browns....crisp and not greasy.

This is a great place to get traditional breakfast food. The staff is very friendly and fast. I got the country breakfast with biscuits and gravy. To be honest the biscuits are a little dry. My husband got the corned beef and it was crispy/delish. The portions are huge!! I need to walk this off.

No frills - and that's exactly how I want my breakfast. We were staying at La Quinta, which is right down the street, so this place is in a perfect location. A bit off from the larger strip malls full of eateries; it stands alone in a small cluster of offices. They've got some great shots of Palm Desert from the early days in here. Pics of past presidents, local celebs, actual celebs... it's all great eye candy if you're into the classic days of the desert. I ate here twice during our stay. First time I kept it simple: egg whites, rye toast, and country potatoes. Absolutely delicious. Second trip: banana pancakes, egg whites, and bacon. Again, everything was excellent. Their pancakes are HUGE, and they offer you either imitation or real maple syrup. Since I've been eating the fake stuff my whole life, I stuck with that. The service was impeccable each time. Our waitress must've been at least 65 years old, but my gf pointed out that she had the legs of a girl 1/3 her age. And she was right. Everyone was very friendly, and they kept the food coming and the plates going. No fuss; just a nice and simple place to get some breakfast in you.

I'm so satisfied from the huge "create your own" omelette and the amazing French toast. We came in a party of 8 and they had us seated right away. The servers were very attentive and nice. And I think I can speak for everyone when I say it was a great dining experience.

Discovered this place on a yelp search for breakfast places near my hotel. Came in at 10am, full house but surprisingly no wait time. Order didn't take long... Tuna melt: my son said it's one of the best he has tasted....he always orders tuna melt so that's saying something Pancake sandwich: 2 pancakes, whipped butter, 2 eggs and 2 links....delish! Although i would have loved salsa with my eggs Cheeseburger with fries from kids menu: big size for a kid's burger, fries were a lot as well, taste according to my son, "awesomest!" Waffle: very tasty! Does not come regularly with a side but the waffle is big so you wouldn't need one. Service is very good too! I'll be having breakfast here every time I visit Palm Springs :)

We were in LQ for the weekend, and looking for a great breakfast. Saw the homemade Corned Beef Hash (fav of wifes) and went. So we got - Eggs and Corned Beef Hash - NEVER had better!! - Build your own Omelet - SOOOOOO fantastic!! Today they had comp Mimosas, so that and coffee topped it off. Service was great, lively activity, and lots of table turnovers. So If there might be a wait, shouldnt be long.

Love, love, looooovvveeee it here! Wait time not too long when it's busy. The food comes quickly after you order. My favorite is their banana pancakes, crab omelette and Louise scramble. The jam is made in house and is soooo good too! Staff friendly. Can't go wrong here!

First off, the older lady at the front who seems to be the manager was not the most pleasant or personable when seating us. Sat us at the first table by the entrance when there were about 3-4 booths open.. On the other hand our waitress was very quick and hard working, get your money's worth with the food, but nothing to rave about. Felt hurried out of the restaurant when we were noticeably close to finishing our food.

Very good food, servings are big, I highly recommend the Chilleaquilles, they are very authentic, nice and spicy and crispy! I asked my server to make my order with eggs and beans instead of rice and beans and all I can say is yummy!!! French Toast with Fruit is another of my faves! Most of the time there is a long wait but very we'll worth it : ) the servers are all very friendly and make you feel at home... Louise's Pantry is our favorite place to eat over the weekends : ) Oh and the Mimosas are great too!

You're going to pay a little bit more for a breakfast meal compared to Denny's or ihop but the quality of the ingredients and final product is probably worth it. Their waffles stood out the most to me but your taste buds will vary. I also ordered their corned beef hash but wished I ordered the ommelete. If u want to avoid a long wait, arrive before 9am on weekends. I would go back for a return meal.

So happy to say that we gave Louise's another try this weekend and it was so much better than last time, we had breakfast there 2 days in a row! First thing we noticed was how crowded it was on Sunday, just like the good old days. Then we noticed that it looks like some upgrades were done inside and the daily special cards were back on the tables! The prices are still a bit high for my comfort, but the food was excellent, the service was fast and friendly and the coffee cups are HUGE and always full!! So glad to be back and to find everything as good, if not better, than it was before!

I tried this place out once, at the beginning of last year. I had read some pretty good reviews but the sound of the cinnamon rolls was what ultimately drew me in. I convinced my husband to try it out and ... well I'm not allowed to recommend places anymore. The service was not friendly, the food was mediocre, and the worst part- the cinnamon roll. It was dry and tasted like it had been wrapped in plastic wrap. You could also tell that it had been nuked in the microwave as it was tough and molten hot in spots. This is also how you know the service is bad, wouldn't you ask if everything is okay when you saw someone didn't eat a cinnamon roll of all things?? I mean who has that self control? There must be something wrong with it. But no, she just dropped the check without even a 'here's your bill'. Never been back, and it's a shame because it's so much closer than Ihop, Mimi's and Goodies.

Me and my girlfriend stopped in for breakfast here this weekend! I'm pretty sure we met Louise who was super friendly and told us about the special she had for that day! It was a Pupusa Benedict with chorizo on top, and looked fantastic! However we were presented with the menu and I decided to go with the chili omelette and home fries. My girlfriend also got an omelette and it came with a side of toast. I love going to breakfast and eating at breakfast spots all over, however this place takes the cake, it was amazing and the coffee was good to. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service, the food also came out rapidly given the fact they had a very busy restaurant! If you're in La Quinta and you want an excellent breakfast I highly recommend going here!!!

Well staffed and we'll run. Staff seamed to be working as a team to insure you. Food was good comfort food. Has the special Corner Beef Hash Benedict and potatoes. Benedict was very good. Potatoes were over done. Little too mushy for my liking.

I feel really bad writing this, only because I'm in the industry myself. The only reason I'm writing this is because before I left with my complaint I feel like the manager or owner did not give a crap about my complaint. I went there on August 12 with my son and boyfriend for my birthday. I have been going to this place for years for breakfast one of my favorite spots!!! I love their jelly and love their corn beef and hash!! It was my birthday and I wanted to treat myself... Every single time we go to the service is not the best but I always understand because of how busy they are. This particular day our server was great at first, they had some sort of computer shutdown going on, which I have dealt with before and it can be a nightmare. They had her server pulled away and on the phone dealing with their computer matter, I seen the owner and managers walked by him several times and not offer to help him... I could see what exactly was going on just from sitting back and watching... After our food came out we never seen our server again except when he dropped your check off... I had to go up to the hostess stand and asked the owner from my side of toast... We sat with unfilled drinks the entire breakfast.... When I went to pay there was another server standing at the register with the owner, she apologized right away before I even pulled out my money.... She knew that we had been neglected the whole time... Before I say anymore I will say I do not blame the server for this at all! My bill was $41 and I left him a $10 tip.... Because I know in this industry every server can have a bad day or that day and his situation be dealing with management problems... When I told the manager how disappointed I was that it was my birthday, she said she was sorry and pulled a coupon out of her wallet, that I could've cut out of the desert sun myself... I mentioned three times I didn't feel like I should pay my bill... In this particular day I felt horrible for the server, felt like management should have stepped up.. We were looking around and I could tell we were not the only table that was feeling this way. If I would've not been as in this industry I probably would've not lift the server not understanding what was going on. This is how we make our money serving and bartending, it's very important the management does her job correctly he could've lost out on a $10 tip that day if I didn't know what was going on...

stumbled across LOUISE's PANTRY while skimming thru YELP reviews and was not disappointed. lengthy menu with all the diner breakfast classics and lots of MEXICAN-AMERICAN favorites too like MACHACA or CHORIZO and EGGS and CHILIQUILLES. got there late enough on a weekday that we missed most of the breakfast rush and there wasn't much of a wait. surprised by other's comments about the service -- ours was attentive, energetic and entertaining. nothing beats breakfast and a floor show. huge, food-coma sized portions. we ate and spent the rest of the day walking around in a zombie-like fugue state.

Food was great, service was great, but was charged $3 for hot water. Ouch. When I brought this up to the cashier, she stated "because it was heated." Never have I been charged for hot water before. Not coming back more on principle than anything else.

I have to say our last trip to the desert was rather disappointing. Almost every restaurant the servers were checked out and this place was no exception. There's nothing worse than getting seated in a section where the waitress brings you water and then apparently her shift is over and you have to wait 15-20 minutes for a waiter to take your order. We got out food pretty fast, but once it was on the table no one checked to see if we needed anything. The food was decent. Which is why it gets 3 stars, but don't go in expecting great service.

I have had the pleasure of dining at Louise's several times, and each time I have been 100% satisfied, both with the service and the food. The servers/staff are friendly and prompt to serve you and refill beverages. Food arrives quickly as ordered, every time. Very generous servings, always far more food than I could eat. The only downside, and not by fault of the restaurant, is the fact that on weekends, particularly Sundays, there can be a bit of a wait. However, they do have seating available outside and offer FREE mimosas while you wait! Aside from this minor inconvenience (that is relieved by free mimosas) I have nothing bad to say about Louise's. Excellent food, especially if you're a fan of breakfast.

The long line on a Sunday morning seemed very promising at first. The crowd pleaser seemed to be the "free" mimosas which once we received our food, we learned that the quality and quantity received included the $3 that the mimosas would have cost us. Every item was $3 more than what the average price is at other breakfast places. For kids who cannot drink or adults who do not drink, their meal was just pure profit for the restaurant. Our service was rushed, I had to ask for refills on the poor quality coffee each time, and napkins. I had a long drive home and needed the caffeine, or would not have bothered with the luke warm watered down coffee. We were seated at a tiny table by the kitchen opening and servers slid by my son's high chair each time. The menu looked enticing but the food was bland. The famous homemade biscuits were large and doughy, no flaky buttermilk goodness that was expected of a fresh made biscuit. The country gravy left a lot to be desired. The server had recommended the country potatoes, which also lacked seasoning and were just boiled, chopped up, and tossed in with wilted (not grilled) onions and bell peppers. Some carmelization and seasoning were desperately needed. My son had the french toast for $8.95 that just came with 2 slices and powdered sugar. For that price they could have thrown in some eggs and even a sausage or two, which is how we figured the $3 mimosas were tacked on. I took a country fried steak breakfast home for the bf and he also thought it was not worth $12. I paid the extra to get a biscuit and gravy and all we got was a plain biscuit, so not worth it. The attempted concept is noticeable and they had a nice breakfast crowd, but this place reminds me of a chain restaurant that is popular in a tourist area instead of for the food, minus the tourist atmosphere. The customers looked like regulars who knew the owner and came to socialize with her mostly. If I lived in the area I would not spend the money to dine here. I can make a much better breakfast at home, which says a lot since I will only decide to cook if I cannot find a place that can make decent food to satisfy my cravings.

Best Sunday brunch in La Quinta! Let me start out by saying any place that gives out complimentary mimosas is a winner in my book! They do diner food very well! All the breakfast items that you would expect but it's sooo good! I had their 5-item omelette which is unheard of that they don't charge extra for more than 3 toppings. Everyone around me had a tuna melt, lox & bagel, and steak & eggs. Loved the freshness of the food and the huge portions. It has everything that you could ask for in a brunch place. P.S. Their homemade preserve is to die for. I probably had 5 different orders for my two piece of toasts... luckily they also sell it by the jar! :)

Not very good. They were not very busy. My husbands water had no ice and was room temp, the coffee was not very good. After three creamers and sugar, it still didn't help. I got the Louise's scramble and actually liked that. Hash browns had no flavor. Jam was ok. My husband had the country fried steak and he said it was burnt, over done, and AOL he tasted was batter. His country potatoes were flavorless. His eggs were ordered over med and came out over easy. He thought the same about the coffee. My husband only ate about 1/4 if his meal. Our server never asked us how our food was. When we paid the cashier didn't ask how our food was and never thanked us for coming. Best thing here were the mints walking out the door. Will never go here again.

came here coachella weekend and was seated really quickly even though it was really crowded.. for such a highly rated place the food is very mediocre.. its very harshly made.. the breakfast burrito had no / minimal meat... the only thing that really went for me was their fruit salad.. which had too much cantaloupe--- please add more pineapples.

The BEST breakfast in the desert. Go early on the weekend because it is very, very popular. They have the most outstanding, consistently great breakfasts. The Hostess Kathy is always cheerful and welcoming yet keeps the food coming at amazing speed. Once you try it you will be back and they welcome you every time like a friend. A great place to eat..!!

We were passing the area & searched for "good breakfasts ". Found Louise's Pantry. YUM! Perfectly cooked Eggs Benedict, Freshly grated hash browns cooked in butter, a tasty wheat pancake. The place was packed but had quick, friendly service. Our only challenge was finding it! Yelp map gave us bad directions. It's tucked in behind some building. Worth the 3 try's to locate! PS: hostess went out of her way to be friendly.

I'm convinced this is the best place to go for breakfast. Every time I visit from San Diego, I look for a really nice place to eat for breakfast because this is the last meal I get with my family before I go back to college. I saw ads in the mail, but never considered it until I saw the great yelp reviews. I knew I had to give this place a shot. I called ahead so they could put me on the wait list because I figured there would be a long wait for Sunday brunch. I wish I hadn't, because it turns out they give out mimosas while you wait! Anyways, my family and I were seated within 5 minutes and the food was incredible. Service was great! The waiter had gotten our orders in a timely manner and even checked up on us throughout our brunch. The food was prepared quickly, too! We were served within about 10 minutes after ordering. I was very impressed! I got Jimmy's Special, which had the best corned beef hash I'd ever had. My portions were on the large side, but that's never a bad thing! I tried some of the eggs benedict that my mother had ordered, and I liked it a lot. It had just the right seasoning, and the ham wasn't overly salty. It was perfect. I definitely recommend anyone visiting to get breakfast here!

Best place to get breakfast in the desert! Don't go on Sundays though, they're super packed due to the after church crowd from across the street. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for! I looove their yummy omelettes and you get quite a bit of food with any meal you get. Their lunch menu is great too! My fave to get is the tuna melt, so fresh and delicious! If you're visiting the desert, this is the place to go!

I've been coming to this place since 2004 and the food is still as great as it was back then even through the new owner changes. My family and I come here so much that they waitresses and hostess knows us pretty well and knows our orders. Whenever I come here I usually get the same thing, but I have tried a lot of their menu. My favorite thing to order here is the Monte Cristo and instead of the french fries, I ask for their mashed potatoes with the country gravy. It is all too die for! And ask for syrup instead of the jam. So good, yet so bad for you haha. The spinach eggs benedict is really delicious, the belgium waffles are really good, but what sucks is that its a little pricy for just waffles and nothing else with it. The service here is great and they give you your food really fast. I love it here!

Loved the biscuts and gravy. The bacon was also great. They had a ton of stuff on their menu that I wanted to try. It made it hard to choose. Too bad they close at 2 because it kinda makes it hard to get there as often.

I had really good waffles and corned beef hash here. This is more of a comfort brunch spot rather than a fancy brunch spot. This is more like a yummier version of IHOP rather than a place like Jane or Clinton Street Bakery in New York.

  • Lynn S.

I don't understand all the negative reviews. I've never had a bad experience or bad food at Louise's Pantry. We've taken friends and they love it too! Call ahead for reservations or expect long lines in the "season". Our go to place!

  • Beth C.

Unfortunately, after today's visit, it's back to Mimi's for us. Today we waited 35 minutes to sit down and before we could order we were asked to move so they could make room for a bigger party with 2 screaming kids! This made watching the races on TV impossible and conversation over the screaming even more impossible. No matter how good the food is, it does not outweigh bad service and an uncomfortable setting.

Food was very yummy and the wait was only a few minutes on a Saturday morning. Prices are a little high but the portions are huge so thats why. I had the French Toast with fresh blueberries, bananas and strawberries and it was the best I've ever had! Delish! Service was great too! Recommend!

  • Jenn C.

Found this place through Yelp while driving around looking for somewhere to eat with the kids while on vacation. We were definitely not disappointed. Server was friendly, attentive, and energetic and food was great. Standard breakfast spot menu (eggs, pancakes, omelets, biscuits, etc) with some Mexican mixed in. Not the place to come if you're trying to diet--portions are huge! I got a spinach omelet and it was packed with spinach leaves and cheese. Husband ordered eggs and some of their homemade corned beef hash. I'm personally not a fan of hash but he says it was some of the best he has ever had. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

I wanted to wait for a 5-star-worthy place before typing my 400th review. This was it. I can't remember the last time that I had a breakfast this good. I can't remember that last time I had food this good in the desert. (Yes, I said it. The restaurants here tend to be overpriced and underwhelming!) This place is a gem of a breakfast spot, despite its odd location. Short version: Delicious, huge breakfasts with plenty of fresh ingredients at standard prices ($7-13), good service, and just ok coffee... it's a diner. Longer version: There were 4 of us, and we all ordered different things. Everything was excellent. I ordered my own omelet creation: for $10.99, you can get an omelet with 5 fillings! (5 fillings! No one else lets you do that. It's always 3 fillings and then everything else you add is $1.50. I hate that). This is amazing. There are tons of options, and you don't have to have cheese if you don't want to, and no one will make you feel weird about it! I ordered mine with bacon, spinach, mushrooms, avocado, and jalapenos. (And the waitress didn't say anything stupid, like warn me about the spiciness the jalapenos were likely to add.) It's not exactly a simple omelet order, but it came out perfectly. The avocado was perfectly ripe and not mushy (hard to do when you add it to a hot pan), the bacon pieces were crisp (hard to do when you add is to liquidy eggs and veggies with moisture), and the jalapenos were fresh (no pickled nachos crap) and perfectly cooked (which is to say: mostly raw and crunchy). It was accompanied by crispy, hot, flavorful hash browns, delicious sourdough toast, and homemade strawberry jam. I don't even like jam, and this was superb. Every bite was magical. Dining companions had a mix of their own omelet creations, biscuits, pancakes, wheat toast, bacon, etc. Everyone was very pleased. Coffee was just ok, but was frequently refilled. We were asked, at order, whether or not we wanted our toast buttered. Not a big deal to me, but the dining companion who prefers dry toast was happy about this. I will be back frequently. Can't wait to try the chilaquiles on the menu!

The pancakes here are DELICIOUS and I'm not a huge pancake lover but will get them when I eat at Louise's. For lunch the French Dip is excellent. I opt to get the gravy for dipping instead of the traditional juice that is provided. If I'm "cutting back" I will get the sandwich without the bread. Equally as good. Services is always EXCEPTIONAL.

Busy place even in the off-season, but the service and food is fast, so they quickly get you seated. Food was tasty and service was friendly. Sadly, they don't carry caramel rolls. We made the mistake of all ordering our own breakfast platters, including a kids breakfast for our 2 year old. There is so much food! We easily could have split a meal and ordered one of their huge pancakes for the little one and there still would have been leftovers! I had the Country Fried Steak - oh so delish! We'll be back for sure!!

LOVE this place. Everytime I come here it is amazing as compared to all of the other places in the area. If I were judging it solely based on the breakfasts I have had worldwide, it would get a 4; however, if you've spent ANY time in this desert, you know it's hard to find a good breakfast that isn't tasting exactly like Denny's or IHOP (I'm looking at you Elmer's...) The biscuits and gravy were DELICIOUS! The omelets can have up to FIVE items inside Their jam is homemade and I want it all over my mouth They have buckwheat pancakes... BUCKWHEAT PANCAKES!!!! :D Anyway, go here, and even if it looks like a long wait (less than or equal to ten people out front) you're only looking at a 15 minute wait.

American food (breakfast) was great. Wife ordered chilequiles plate and said it wasn't mexican authentic at all. Beans and rice taste like it came out of a bag or can - her words. I recommend sticking with the American side of the menu!

Everything has always been massive in portion size. Regardless how good the Spanish omelet is with homemade sauce... ...here are a few failings: --not REAL maple syrup is as good as imitation crab. The "real" stuff may cost more per gallon but you are dispensing a couple of OUNCES so who cares? The prices are stiff enough to absorb the extra cost. --Sundays are FREE Mimosas. Did I pluralize that? Sorry..only one. Here we go again..FRESH OJ is NOT out of a Tropicana jug now is it? My friend was offered a refill..accepted...and it was graciously added to the check at $3.25. So, her OJ+refill came to $6.50! Ridiculous. The "gracious senior hostess profusely apologized but refused to remove it from the check. Not that they would go broke but how does a free Mimosa (champagne and OJ) break the bank? Let me not forget a "large" bowl half filled with fresh fruit for $5.99? Sorry, Chris (owner) but there are all sorts of competition now within a couple of miles. Stop being so greedy or you'll go the way of Gary's Cafe.

Very cool place for breakfast. The corned beef hash is the way to go since it is made with love from scratch! No canned dog food here! We loved the large booths and the decor made us feel like we were somewhere special. They have awesome photographs of celebrity's in the Palm Springs area. They were great with our daughter and made her Micky Mouse shaped pancakes. We'll be back!

Ok, we came here a couple of weeks ago and it was so packed that we didn't have time to wait. Since it was a weekday we thought we would give it a try. Great reviews on Yelp and to our surprise it was not very good. I had the Eggs Bene w/country potatoes. The potatoes were boiled and not fried which was surprising because there are reviews with pictures and the potatoes looked crispy. The hollandaise wasn't bad but the english muffin wasn't toasted so it got all soggy. Yuck! My husband had Joe's Scrabble and it was very plain tasting. Unfortunately, we will not be back since there are so many good eats in the area. Maybe it was just an off day for this restaurant but in our opinion it was comparable to a franchise restaurant like IHOP or Village Inn. Hope this helps!

Ok, but pricey. . . and selective when it comes to service. Went to Louise's on New Year's Day during our recent trip. Food was fine, but a little pricey. Portions were generous. Service was a little spotty. We were not offered a free mimosa, unlike other guests who were seated around us. Would have loved one if it had been offered, but maybe this was only for their lucky customers? Have no idea why it wasn't offered to us, but as a result, we'll never go back. It was okay, but not worth the price or the snooty and selective attitude towards customers.

Spanish omelette: really good & unique! Cheese in the middle & a marinara based onion/pepper sauce on top. Country potatoes are really tasty: made with Yukon gold rather than the traditional russet. The homemade strawberry jam is so wonderful. It's really thin and has chunks of real strawberries in it. My husband had the corned beef hash, which is uniquely spiced and great tasting as well.

The banana nut pancakes were great and the service was good. The wait to get seated on the Saturday on Memorial Day weekend was long but that was to be expected. All in all, if you want a good pancake and you like pancakes with fruit inside it was good. The price was moderate.

had the corned beef hash w/over easy eggs and wolfed down the whole massive thing, and the complimentary mimosas were great too. the corned beef was a tad overcooked but overall very satisfied w/the meal. full review w/pix on my site.

This is my mom's favorite place to go for breakfast. I found it to be quite tasty, although the portions are way too generous. Three family members were able to share TWO breakfast platters, yet we all left very full. The "Chorizo & Eggs" plate is very authentic, and was as good (or better) than the same platter served at Taquerias in the valley!

My first time at Louise's Pantry a few days ago, and it was great! Had blueberry pancakes and bacon, and really good coffee. I was happily surprised that they offered flavored nondairy creamer packets on the table, as I'm lactose intolerant, so always have to bring my own alternative to milk or cream. The service was friendly and fast, and I liked the décor as well. I will definitely return to Louise's Pantry on my next visit to Palm Springs.

Came here Monday morning, we had been here 2 years ago and did not remember it being bad. The waitress was extremely attentive and nice. We ordered coffee, it was decent. I ordered French toast with fruit $9, my husband ordered the spinach omelet with country potatoes and 1 blueberry pancake for an additional $3. Food comes, the presentation of my french toast was nice, however the taste was awful. I tried to use syrup and just tell myself it's good. After about 8 bites, I said I can't do this. No taste, nothing like the description. Just gross! My husband, was grossed out by his omelet said you can taste all the oil in the eggs, the potatoes were not cooked throughly, the bell pepper was still raw and crunchy. He refused to eat the food. The waitress came by and asked him if everything was ok, cuz all his food was still there. He let her know, she apologized and took it off the bill. But, really! We were hungry who cares about the cost, we wanted good food. Never again! We ended up at Five Guys 4 hours later. Very good!

Such a hidden gem in the desert! Lived here my entire life and never knew about this place. Excellent food and great service made for an awesome experience. Will definitely return!

Great corned beef hash! Got the side order with an egg and avocado side - was great. No fancy coffee & mostly an older crowd. Service was good, price was fine. Biscuits and gravy were pretty good. One biscuit cut in half is bigger (fluffier) than two regular biscuits. Not a ton of meat in the gravy, but decent flavor to it.

Wow. Fresh corned beef hash from scratch. Huge portions. Everything fresh. Cheerful staff and atmosphere on a busy Sunday morning. Best breakfast I had in area so far.

One of the best breakfasts in the desert. The corned beef hash was made with real seasoned corned beef-amazing!! The country fried steak was great! And the has browns were crispy-just as we'd asked. We also had friendly service and would definitely come back again.

Great lunch. Fantastic chicken salad. Big servings, good quick service. I have not had dinner or breakfast but friends say it's very good. A bit pricy, but worth it.

This is my first negative review and I am not happy about writing it, but it must be done. I have been to this place twice. The first time was a few months ago and I ordered the corned beef hash...big mistake. It was unusually greasy, even for corned beef hash, and the corned beef was so soaked in oil and stringy that is simply tasted like oil. The hash browns were also much greasier than I like them and I was only able to take a few bites and quickly lost my appetite. The service that time was not great, as we had to ask for coffee and water refills repeatedly. I also was not a fan of the high noise level and struggled to hear my table mate during our conversation. Needless to say I went back again with hopes of a better experience, and was totally let down in a big way. The man serving us, the coffee and the hollandaise sauce were the only positives that I can mention about our meal. We had eggs benedict and the pile of diced onions and peppers they cook with the country potatoes were still raw; it didn't appear that they even made it to the pan. The rest of the food wasn't very warm, and the noise level was much worse than the first time. The topper for me was when the hostess walked past our table as we were barely starting our second cup of coffee and our plates had just been cleared (only about 45 minutes into our visit actually) and she jabbed her finger onto the bill that the server had set on the table a few minutes prior, and said, "I'll take care of that now if your ready." We were stunned. We clearly didn't appear ready, considering we hadn't even had time to retrieve our cards from our wallets and were trying to enjoy, at the very least, some coffee and conversation. The manner in which she addressed us clearly communicated that our time was up and they needed our table. The message they are sending? That to them quantity is far more important than quality. It's a shame that they don't attempt to improve or grow their business if they continue to get as ridiculously backed up with waiting customers as they somehow seem to do. Perhaps switching to a reservation system or better training their staff in interpersonal communications might be a start. As a result of these two visits, I know at least three people who will never go back there. I would have given zero stars, but to be fair, the server, the coffee and the hollandaise were good, but absolutely not worth going back for.

I was in La Quinta for work, and hadn't eaten anything yet, so I figured I'd probably just stop in Cabazon on the way back or wait until I got back to the office. En route to the freeway, I passed Louise's Pantry and it looked like they may have more breakfasty items. I parked in the crowded lot (a good sign), and was seated in a small booth near the counter. I found it kind of amusing that, despite the heat, the waitress was wearing stockings underneath her shorts and shirt getup. Kind of like the Hooters waitresses, but modest shorts on top. Either they were understaffed or she had just taken amphetamines, as she was pacing around the place at a mile a minute. I ordered the Louise's omelet - eggs with jack cheese, tomatoes, and avocado - and it was pretty tasty. She said the toast was coming, and totally forgot... I received it just as I was about to head out the door. That anxiousness though, seemed a bit weird for the area, as La Quinta had a laid back feel to it. The food is pretty good albeit a tad pricey for the area, the service is okay, and I'd return if I were to go back to La Quinta. I'd also give it 3.5 stars if I could, but alas.

Love this place, french toast is one of the best for the desert for the price. Being going here for years, same waitresses. Burgers are also good. Look for the coupons of buy one get one free. Only downside is they close at 2pm, but I dont blame them.

Yay, I'm a fan. Read about Louise's on Yelp, and I wasn't disappointed. Was in La Quinta for a relaxing weekend with the wife. The restaurant was clean, attractive, and cozy. Dropped by for breakfast, I had the chicken fried steak and wife had a half order of ham. The chicken fried steak and potatoes were good, but the batter needed a little more seasoning, the gravy was excellent. wife recommends you order the ham steak, it is probably tastier since is isn't out of a can. I will drop by again when I am in the area.

Short Review - I have a home near them, and have eaten there 3 times. The food is good. The service is not so good. Not so nice wait staff, sometimes rude. I went to get a carryout this morning, and they were downright mean. I left, they can keep their food - and rude staff, plenty of other places to eat in a 2 mile radius. Also, as noted before, their prices are on the high side for the area.

My wife and I go when we can; usually on weekends or during vacation b/c of their limited hours. It's tucked away in LQ. The first time we went was b/c we got a BOGO coupon in the mail and boy was and has it been worth it ever since. Quaint little place. TVs to watch, plenty of booths, nice and bright and nicely decorated with vintage pictures of PS celebrities from the past. Other than that the food's well worth it and b/c of our coupon priced well. Go! You won't regret it. Plenty of parking. Well lit.

Their food tastes good but the waitress was way too fast to try to take our orders. She didn't give us enough time to look at their extensive menu. If it wasn't for the rushed service maybe I would've had a better experience.

Great breakfast! My wife and I did a long weekend in La Quinta. Once we found Louise's we ate here 3 days in a row. Got something different each morning and all was great! We bragged on it so much that our other friend came back with our last 2 days. Can't wait to come back.

History, you got it! An oversized meal, you got it! This has been a favorite of Palm Springs for years next to the theatre on Palm Canyon but moved years ago. Plan on a crowd, very quick attention and don't be surprised if you are the youngest one there! The staff is on it, coffee refills, good food and for those young they just can't appreciate the mature staff who work their buns off! Thank goodness for them all and their well tuned staff who have probably been working together for over 20 years! Love you guys and I eat there every time I am out in the desert!

Good place for a home style meal. The portions are pretty decent for the price. The taste is alright but you are not going to a upscale place. I would come back again for the food (and the service from the mostly over 50 motherly wait staff)

We had breakfast here on Mother's Day. They gave away mimosas while waiting that tasted delicious! They were very nice and attentive. The food was really good especially their homemade jam which we bought a jar of. We will definitely be going back every time we are in town. Loved this place!!!!

Myself and a group of 15 others came here after the Coachella festival and had an amazing experience here. The service was great and the owner even came out to chat with us and brought us all mimosas on the house, no complaints there!! It definitely brought our moods up since we were all in our ways back home. The food was great and the portion sizes where HUGE. It's a great place and I would definitely recommend it!

GO FOR THE CINNAMON BUNS. ... that's pretty much it. This diner-ish stop filled with a smattering of locals at all ages serves up standard breakfast fare. So far, the only thing worth ordering is the cinnamon buns, which are AMAZING. The rest of what we ordered was just okay. Not terribly creative, not amazingly done, but all around edible.

My husband asked me to find a good breakfast place in La Quinta and Louise's Pantry came up. When I read the great reviews I knew we had to try it and Im so glad we did. I'm not usually a breakfast person but I had the best breakfast I've ever tasted. I had Louise's scramble with hash browns. The eggs were cooked perfectly with avocado, bacon and cheese. My hash browns were crunchy and toast was included too. The owner was a delight and he told me he just bought Ciro's in Indio. Lucky them! I almost ate everything on my plate which is a rarity especially for such large portions. That's how good it was. We'll be back!!

This is a restaurant that really knows not just about great food and great portions, but customer service and a personalized touch. I have been here mainly for breakfast for the past few months and always have had a great experience. Today (Sunday) was an extra special experience as I had out of town guests with me and it was super busy. We got to the restaurant and there was an obvious wait. When checking in, I was welcomed by the manager and told that even though it would be about 20 minutes, the wait moves fast, that it did. During the wait, we were handed free mimosa's in large glasses which I felt was an outstanding move on their part as it kept our mind off if the wait and discussing how good the mimosa's were. Once we got a table, I couldn't help but notice the manager saying hello to long time patrons as well as greeting new ones at their tables, specifically asking more about what brought them to the desert and the restaurant rather than just a standard, how is everything and kind of impersonal. It made the morning to know that once again, a great place was chosen. My compliments to all those who are affiliated with this restaurant- you shine! Keep up the great work.

I hate this place! Why...because I am starting a DIET!...I love blueberry pancakes and had to pass them up for the good ol' egg white - vege omelette Good coffee - good service - I will be back for the 'cakes.....everything i was was outstanding...and my omelet was just what I needed!.....(filled me up and fueled me for the day!)

Was there at lunch with Hubby. Seated right away. It took a while for our drinks order to be taken. No napkins or utensils at the table. Server either did not notice or care. Hubby borrowed my teaspoon to stir his coffee. The bus lady brought the napkins and utensils about a half hour later. And yes, our meal had not arrived yet. How was the food? Could have stayed home and done better. I had a tuna melt with potato salad. Potato salad was good. Tuna melt was not melted much less hot. Hubby had a Monte Cristo. Small and cold in the center. Since my meal was brought to me before his, and I saw the server check about his plate when my plate was at the kitchen counter, I can honestly say his order did not initially go through and his sandwich was "rushed", therefore served cold. Will not be returning here. Ever.

I'm a sucker for diners....and this place is definatly the diner to go in the east end of the valley. However, after coming a few times, I'm waiting on the menu that really makes this place authentic with the authentic comfort food it can have. The bacon reminds me of the Holiday Inn breakfast buffet and the quality of food seems to be best earlier in the day. Service and portions are spot on, and the price is appropriate for the area.

Louise's does not only have great, friendly service, but also great food (that's what were looking for, right?). I usually order the eggs benedict, my breakfast staple. Louise's does a good job with it including a not so runny hollandaise sauce. I took my GF there for the first time and she said it was the best breakfast she has had in a long while. Prices are reasonable and seating is sufficient.

While in the area I thought of the Louise's Pantry that I used to go to in Palm Desert. Well that location closed and now they are in La Quinta. My BF and I were starved so after checking out of our room we rolled over here. Thank goodness for that 1-800-466-4411 google 411 number. I had the eggs benedict and the boy had the french toast. we also ordered mimosas which were on the menu $5 (cheap) but when we got our bill they came out to $2 a piece. Perhaps there is a deal is you order an entree. Who knows. .. I told the bf that I am not a fa of chains unless it's like 2AM and I want grits from Denny's then I will bend! So, this is just another little treasure in the desert. Finding it is hard. Just look for the Gody church on Washington and they are located across the street. There was no sign. Not yet. The complex looks fairly new so perhaps they will put one up soon! We are coming back for sure come Coachella time!!
